Avengers: Endgame is the culmination of over a decade of storytelling in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film features almost every major character who has appeared in the MCU thus far, and it ties up all of the loose ends from previous films.
The story picks up shortly after the events of Avengers: Infinity War, with half of all life in the universe having been erased by Thanos' snap. The remaining Avengers must come up with a plan to undo Thanos' actions and save their friends and loved ones.
The film is action-packed and emotional, featuring some truly spectacular set pieces and performances from its cast. It's an satisfying conclusion to Marvel's cinematic saga, and it sets things up nicely for future films in Phase Four of the MCU.
Avengers: Endgame is the long awaited sequel to Avengers: Infinity War. The Russo Brothers, who directed both films, did an amazing job of tying all the plot lines together and providing a satisfying conclusion to the 22-film saga that began with Iron Man in 2008.
The film begins with Tony Stark stranded on a remote planet after he sacrificed himself in order to save Doctor Strange and Spider-Man from Thanos’s clutches. He has been living there for five years, completely alone except for a few robots that are trying to keep him alive. Back on Earth, everyone is struggling without their favorite heroes. Thor has gone completely off the rails and is now working as a drunken clown in Australia; Black Widow is training new recruits for SHIELD; Captain America leads a team of outlaws called The Avengers; and Hawkeye has retired from heroics altogether and is raising his family in peace.
When Nick Fury sends out an emergency call for help, all of our favorite characters come back together one last time to try to take down Thanos once and for all. This time they have some help from Ant-Man, who was trapped in the Quantum Realm when Thanos snapped his fingers at the end of Infinity War. The final battle takes place on Titan (Thanos’s home planet), Wakanda (where Shuri was able to develop technology that could reverse Thanos’s finger snap), New York City, and outer space. In addition to dealing with Thanos himself, our heroes also have to face off against his army of aliens known as The Black Order.
The ending was everything I could have hoped for – it was emotional yet satisfying –and I think most fans will agree that it lived up to expectations . After watching so many characters die or be turned into dust over the past three films , it felt good finally see them all triumphantly reunited . While there were some things about Endgame that didn’t quite make sense (like how Ant-Man was able shrink down small enough enter into Vision’s head without being detected by Scarlet Witch) , these can be forgiven because overall it was an excellent movie .
